Sarsaparilla - (Smilax ornata)


Hyssop Herb

This perennial herb is also called Chinese Root, Small Spikenard.
The name Sarsaparilla comes from the Spanish words "sarza," for "shrub," and "parilla" for "little vine."
Sarsaparilla root contains sulfur, iron, calcium, potassium and magnesium.
