Cleavers - (Galium aparine)


Cleavers herb

This annual herb is also known as Clivers, Goosegrass. It is a member of the Rubiaceae plant family.
The leaves are narrow, lance-shaped and are rough along the margins and surface and they occur in whorls of 6 to 8 leaves. The flowers are white, tiny, 1/16 to 1/8 inch in diameter and star-like. Gather the above ground plant and dry for later herb use.

Cleavers can be added to vegetables.

Cleavers tea: Add 3 heaping tbs. of dried or fresh herb to 1 pint of boiling water. Steep 10 min.

Part used: Aerial Parts.
