Yarrow - (Achillea millefolium)

Sweet Flag Herb

This perennial herb, also known as Soldier's Herb, is native to Europe and western Asia.

Yarrow has feathery leaves with white, pink or red small flowers in little bunches and it can grow up to three feet tall and two feet wide. The flowers appear from summer to fall.

Yarrow is easy to grow from seeds. Grow the herb in a sunny location in fairly rich, well-drained soil. Harvest the leaves as needed, and the flowers when they are fully open.

There are many ways you can enjoy yarrow. Add young leaves to salads and cheeses.

Parts used: Flower tops, leaves, stems.

Don't use yarrow oil if you have sensitive skin since it may cause skin irritations or allergic reactions.
